Riser Shelf

Table space was getting a little “junky”. Also my desktop serves as a media player, file server. So do not usually need the keyboard but like it attached. Did not want to go with the basic riser shelf. In one of the wood magazines I liked a kitchen shelf with the half-laps so based it on that.

Got going on putting it all together and forgot to rabbit the legs to go underneath so they ended up being flush. The black came about because I had it in the cupboard from LONG ago… Wanted a contrast to have the gridwork stand out a little bit more.

On the smaller one… Whoops… Had the wrong measure by far.. but still works. Idea was for the Clock-Radio an ext-DVD to be hidden underneath, still allowing for my laptops 2nd monitor.

Cool! I made something similar to this for my kitchen.

Actually based on a kitchen shelf I remember seeing in one of the wood magazines.

Looks great and unique, great idea and love the grid work and contrasting wood colors. Great job!
