This King Louis XV Rococo style bed was made by both my son Eric and myself. This is our first father and son piece of furniture made together for a customer.

Eric turned the four bedposts on the lathe he also made the footrest with the veneer starburst pattern on the front along with the headboard and side rails. Then I got to have some fun by making the two center scrolled acanthus leaf bouquets along with the four pieces of scrolled top trim. The scrolls and leafs are carved on both sides of each bouquet. The bed is made out of mahogany hardwoods and veneers.

That is beautiful work. Stunning enough to make me look through all your previous projects. Very, very satisfying trip. Looking forward to more.

Beautiful! Congratulations to both of you on what will hopefully be the first of many more to come.

It looks like Zongkers Fine Furniture is in good shape for another generation.
What a lucky son to have you to learn from. ..... and what a lucky dad to have such a talented son.
Just a perfect piece of work. Not overdone or underdone, .... just perfect.

THANKS DENNIS AND ERIC

Beautiful work both of you. Great that you two are working together.

Question, the footboard has a starburst pattern, is that the wood, or the way you stained it?
In either case how did you do it? I could not see what looked like hard lines for the wood..
