This right here is my handy-dandy bandsaw box. It was made in the Wahoo High School. It started out being just a big old block of wood and then the result is like this. First, I used the bandsaw to cut out a little curve shape to it. Then before I cut out a hole in the middle of the wood for the drawer I had to cut an inch off the back to glue back on so the drawer doesn’t go out the back of the box. After I cut out the back, I had to cut a hole in the middle of the bandsaw box for the drawer. After I was done with the drawer, I lost the back to it so i had to find a completely different piece of wood and trace the shape of the box on there and use the bandsaw to cut it out. Before I found a different piece of wood, I had to cut the shape of the top out. After I was done with that, the shape of the handle had to be cut out. I had to use scrap from the bandsaw box to trace a circle shape and then cut it out. After all the cutting was done, it was gluing time. First I glued the back on and while the back was drying, I had to glue the handle onto a piece of wood and the next day, I used the bandsaw to cut out the shape. After cutting the handle out, I used the sander to get the bumps out of the handle. I also used the sander to get the bumps out of the outside of the bandsaw box and the drawer so it could fit inside the box too. Well now the gluing and cutting was done, it was staining time. I used blue stain to put on the bandsaw box, drawer, and handle. After that I put 5 or 6 coats of polyurethane on it and BOOM it is done.

Aint it amazin how quick stuff can get away from you? Thanks for detailing how complicated a little project can get. Reminds me of my dad, who always loves it when somebody says “all you have to do is…....”. Nice bluebox.

BOOM sound like you enjoyed making the box, despite some hiccups on the way!
