This toy is for my youngest Grandson in South Africa (that is why the driver is on the right), I can’t wait to see the look on his face when he sees it ….
The crane truck and trailer is one of the projects in Jim Makowiki’s book “Making Heirloom Toys”
I altered the crane to suit myself. Three coats of Daly’s Ship-’n-Shore wiping varnish.

Cool toy, nice build, and lucky grandson—an overall winning combination in my book.

I like the magnet. Is this exact build from plans? He’s gonna love it and remember.

Neat, I like the magnet idea.

The hook is a bolt with a hole drilled through for the string, and the barrels have weak magnets inlaid in the tops, can’t be too careful with kids and magnets!
Thanks for the nice comments guys.

Awesome toy! Cool details and pretty woods. I’m sure the little boy will be thrilled. Excellent job!
