Another batch of 25 pens headed to our men and women in uniform serving around the world. These are all Red Oak.

Since I started turning pens, I have done 510+ pens for uniformed service personnel and veterans.

For more info on the Freedom Pens project, and to get involved, see:

Kudos to you for doing such a fine job on the pens and such a noble deed.

Those are very nice looking pens, and to a great cause! I’ve never turned a pen in my life, but maybe when I get out of the Navy I’ll be able to join in on the fun!

Gerry, I much admire your efforts. I knew you were a GOOD guy!

Do you buy or make your pen blanks? I would be happy to donate wood for your cause. Just send me a PM and tell me what you need and I’ll tell you what I’ve got.

Congratulations on an outstanding job for what I’m sure is a worth cause—any cause supporting our men and women in service is worthy of our endeavor and efforts.

gfadvm—I cut & drill all of my own blanks. A few come from wood scraps donated by other woodworkers, most come from domestic hardwood scraps from my own shop.

I made ten pens for this project about ten years ago. All from different woods. 510+ pens you made? That is unbelievable! Good job!
