I made the key for my youngest son to symbolize his coming of age. Only ceremonial these days but a nice old tradition to uphold.
The bone carving tells his story so far. There is the Maori Tiki face to represent our country’s culture with a tongue representing a European wood chisel, as he is a furniture maker by trade. On the top of the head of the Tiki is the handle of a Japanese chisel to recognise the Asian influence on his woodworking endeavors.

Thats cool, my boy would love the key. He really digs the old style keys, we live in old victorian type house so all the locks are old too.
Thanks for sharing

Those are cool gifts that I’m sure he’ll appreciate. Like the old style key and the great carving on the pendant, very meaningful.
