Hello Lumber Jocks,

This is my first posting. I made this bookshelf for my son for Christmas. He liked it so much that he actually paid me to make him two more matching units. They look great in his room with all his books. I made them from 3/4 Birch plywood and Pine for the facing and trim work. After staining, I applied four coats of poly. I should have used shellac.

Question… How do you upload pictures that aren’t sideways?

Nice work on this bookshelf, looks great. Why do you say: should have used shellac? Did the poly give you problems?

If you are taking pictures with your phone and you turn the phone “sideways”, you must remember to go back and edit the picture on your computer to turn the picture right side up before uploading it.

How did you accomplish the eagle at the top? Is this something you hand carved?

Nice bookshelf build…and tell your son he gets two thumbs up for his reading material. Was a big Jordan fan for several years until his death. Great job sir

It’s great looking, has great carving and awesome finish. No wonder he likes two more. Great job!

Matt – The eagle is an applicae that I purchased from a craft store. Although, I have a router pantograph that I’m going to use to try and duplicate it with.
