This was the first project after purchasing our home. Wanted to build our own bedroom set since I couldn’t find anything that fit our needs. The units are made of birch plywood with edge banding and solid birch where needed. The stain was a red oak and turned out nicely. The left armour which is mide is made up with three small drawers fro watches, cuff links and tie tacs. plus the additional hanging area. My wifes side is sheved for additional clothing. THere is also a drawer slide out with melmine that acts as a side table when needed. Behind the bed are three pull downs for additional storage as well as removeable shelve to access behind the unit. The bed frame has two additional drawers on each side. It amazing to think you can never have enough storage. There are also two lights for reading above with switches mounted behind the bed rest area. an additional piece was added later to hide the light cans.

Hi Jonathan,
Looks good. that was a lot of dovetail drawers to make! but you’re right, you can never have enough storage space. I really like the smaller watch/ jewelry drawers inside. The pullout shelf was a great idea.

are you going to mirror the back wall?... he he

I was about to suggest you put a valance up there to hide the cans until I read that you did it later. cool.

Nice project. And, Welcome to Lumberjocks!

Mark. Thank you I actually didn’t dovetail the drawers. Didn’t have that skill yet. Instead of mirrors I put up three wedding pictures behind.
