The shelf is made form 1/2” galvanized pipe and 1” x 12” select pine.

Step 1: Clean the pipes (warm soapy water) to remove the oil and price tags
Step 2: Put together one side of what you think you want your shelf to look like and see where the bottom flange needs to be attached.
Step 3: Find your studs and attach you flanges.
Step 4: Decide on the length of your shelf and mark where the vertical pipes will go through the shelves. I used a forstner bit to drill several shelves at once so they were the same. Once you make your first one and it fits make all your shelves and stain/paint them.
Step 5: Install the shelves (easier said then done). But once they are finished they look cool.

If you want to build this, just Google “iron pipe shelf DIY” and you will only have a few dozen blogs that give a full step by step list.

Pretty neat idea, but I personally think they’re a bit too “industrial looking” for a little girls room.

Cool shelves! Like the use of the pipes combined with the painted shelves. Well done!
