A late Christmas present for my favorite nephew Brody.
I have to give thanks to my buddy CROWIE who was kind enough to let me copy his Norm Marshall straight truck.
I made a few modifications, depending on what I had laying around. Now that I have a lathe, it was a breeze to turn the smoke stacks, wheels, lights and air horns.
I wanted to make all the contrasting pieces out of different woods and the only thing I had to stain was the pine hood and cab. The only item not glued or screwed is the tailgate which slips into a slot. Many, many coats of poly to hopefully stand up to little boy abuse.
Ballpark size – 3” – 4” W x 6” H x 16” L.
He said “big ole truck” – priceless. Thanks for looking guys. Ray

G’Day Ray,
Now that’s a 10 out of 10 truck that you’ve made for the little bloke and he looks very pleased with it….
He’ll have hours of fun and play with it if he’s anything like my 2 grandsons…excellent job..
Any chance of a few extra photos of the whole truck all the way around please…
Again sir, very well done….

Nice truck. I like the front grill on it. It looks tough enough to drive right through some furniture. Now he needs something to put in it. Cool looking horns too.

Doc, yes, I always sign my stuff when I can. The license plate says BRODY 2014
Crowie, I have asked his mom and dad for some more pics and I will post them. By the way, I had it all packed up for shipping before I remembered that I hadn’t taken any pictures….. getting old is a bitch!
