this was and interesting piece of maple I have had for several years. Finally got the opportunity to do something with it. Base is walnut.Legs Tapered . I see this as a coffee table but it could be used as a bench as well. finish is odies oil.

i really like this, the way you tapered the legs and the support for the center really adds a lot, but the wood is striking, i have some light tops like that also but its not maple, its cypress, but its amazing how much figure it has, beautiful table john…

That is a great looking coffee table! I like the walnut base, and especially the top. (Although, that sharp point in the front of the top concerns me…..)
