I turned this lidded hollow form as a memorial urn from curly maple and figured walnut. It measures 12 tall without the finial, and about 3.5” at its widest point. Its hollowed to roughly 1/4” and is nice and lightweight. It wasnt my typical short round portly hollow form but I like experimenting with unique shapes. The finish is Deft hi gloss Lacquer over a cured coat of boiled linseed oil. Its got a little bit of pop.. Thanks for looking, hope you like it.

Wow! Nice work, nice wood. Going that deep and thin is not easy.

This is gorgeous! I haven’t learned to work on a lathe yet, but looking forward to it!

It looks like a very nice piece, I feel the background clutter is distracting & possibly takes away from a fine piece of turning :) fabulous timber selection
