This was the second Koa bowl that I turned and probably my best bowl to date. I invested in a longworth chuck for finishing the bottoms. On this particular bowl I was finishing the bottom when I had a catch the thing went flying putting some large scratches and dents on the side and rim. I remounted it on the longworth chuck, re-sanded and finished the outside again. I use an already made friction finish from Woodcraft. When the light hits it right the wood looks 3 dimensional. I sand all my bowls up to 600 grit.

Very nice. Simple lines. Koa is so beautiful.
