Workstation designed by myself and made from fir and pine. Finish is the base painted with Almond semi-gloss and top with Butcher Block oil. Decided to make the top myself from 2×2 fir strips, glued up with biscuits to maintain alignment. Finished top is 28.5 inches wide and 48 inches long. Made of 4 sections at 7and 1/8 inch wide, which allowed me to plane both sides with my 13 inch Ryobi Planed. I had researched buying a finished Butcher Block blank of approx. the same size, but the cheapest on-line price was $240.00. My material cost was less than $40.00 The kitchen window tiers were an added thought after I had completed the station. The Chef Kitchen Theme adds a nice finishing touch. The entire project cost me around $100.00

Very pretty, functional design and the look gorgeous with those knots and complements the painted drawers and body. I’m sure she loves it. Great job!
