Steel/Pine Entry Table

I made this table a couple years ago for my wife. She wanted a table to fit in our entryway so that we could have a place to put some more stuff to dust. I thought I could make one, and at the time was into welding, was starting to get interested in woodworking, and this is what I came up with.
The base is made of half inch angle iron welded together. The decoration on the sides is a whole lot of washers welded together by their edges to make a kind of wave design. (That part took about as long as you would think.) The top is a panel of planed and jointed construction grade pine 2×4s. The top is finished with a stain I can’t remember, and an excessive amount of poly. The metal base was rattle-canned black.
Its not the greatest table, but I like it because it was the best I could do at the time, and it is certainly the only one.

I really like this table. I think the washer design is awesome. Very nicely done.

Fantastic table, like the look and style. Like the use of washers, great accents to the metal legs. Gorgeous top, great stain and finish which complement the picture frames. Great work!
