This was a class project that I took at Lonnie Bird’s several years ago. As with all his classes, I always learn something that I would have never accomplished without his instruction. The overall case construction wasn’t difficult but the joinery was new to me as was the clamping procedure for angled joints. The true divided light door was a chore. The margin of error was “ZERO” PERIOD. This was also my first try at tombstone doors. The piece is walnut with water based dye, orange shellac and hand rubbed oil finish and Renaissance wax.

Sweet cabinet, great craftsmanship. Looks like you learned a lot from trips to Colonial Williamsburg, very authentic period style details. Welcome to LJs.
PS: nice touch with the antique glass panels.

I’m planning to do one, too.
