I made this for my daughter’s second birthday. This is inspired by a recent project from DonP. A set of inline skate wheels later, I had new toys for my cousin’s boy and my daughter. She has loved lions from a very early age so it fits. His main body is from 4/4 cherry, smaller pieces are resawed from some figured 3/4 cherry I had left over from her rocking horse present last year. She loves to roar like a lion when she skates him down the hall, pretty funny to watch. I may have to cap the bolt heads as my base boards are taking a toll already. Thanks for looking.

Here are the axle parts I used. 5/16 bolts. Coupler nuts are pressed in under sized holes from both sides.

Interesting idea! I would like to see it in action. Definitely haven’t seen that before.

Awesome! Love lions too and the cherry is gorgeous. I’m sure the kids love it. Great job!

I like the way you changed the grain orientation for the mane. Good attention to detail!
