Sorry for the Star Wars humor… I normally don’t post pens because there would be WAY too many, but now that I have finally got my photography setup, I thought they would be nice subjects for the trial run. Photography was my hobby before woodturning, but now I’m able to combine the two. I bought a light box and built the light stand out of some 3/4” PVC with some clamp lights and natural light flourescent bulbs.
The first pen is buckeye burl with turquoise inlay, the 2nd is a highly spalted big leaf maple, and the last is another buckeye burl pen.

Great looking work. And never apologize for anything Star Wars related. Except the prequels. We don’t talk about those.

The light tent is a great way to get pro quality photos with little effort or expertise. I’ve been using a 42” light tent for my box photos, and love it. Easy. BTW, nice pens.

Fantastic! Many of my pro rodbuilding friends have tents like this with an opening in each side to allow the fishing rod to go through and move around for close up photos. Thanks for sharing.

Great setup. I am in the process of setting mine up. I am interested in how you made the light stand. Would you mind sending me information on how you did it or post a picture of the stands.
