Been a while since I had time to create something worth putting on LJ
Im fortunate enough, to be apart of a group of friends, that regularly meet up and play poker.
Being complete stat-junkies, we have kept complete records of all tournaments played, since the beginning.
We even made a clever point system that accounts for: Rebuys, Addons, opponents outlived, placement and wins.
Needles to say, the annual champion earns tremendous amounts of gloating rights,
along with the proper respect, and humbling submissiveness of all the other players around the table.
But what good is the admiration and awe-inspiring of the plebs, without a physical object to show off?
Rough shape cutting the mahogany with
Sanding the oak playing cards to equal thickness before they are glued together in a fan.
Alot of routing and sanding later, and I can assemble the parts.
Notice my temporary routertable. Will have to make a proper one in time.
I had to “cheat”, and use a CNC router for the writing on the face-side of the cards. The wax coating actually make it a shade darker in the writing, so its a little more visible
—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
I finished it in time for our annual party, where the evil usurper “Bonde”, commandeered it from its rightful owner.
I swear.. I could heard the oak cry softly as it was taken.
...
..
well, something was making crying noises at least.
Till 2014, game on!

Much nicer than most trophies but then I’m a little partial to wood.

Thanks. It was well recieved, and the cost was below $200 all in all. Most of which was the ingraving + brass.
We also have $20 buyins and cashprizes, but honestly… the bragging rights is worth more :-)

What a creative piece! It’s beautifully designed and made and is a wonderful eye catcher and conversation piece.
