I’m sure this has been here before but I couldn’t resist showing what a cut-out can be turned into.
This started out as the cut-out of a band saw box that made the cavity in the box. It layed around for a week or so and I got tired of moving it and just couldn’t throw it away (it was a really nice chunk of wood)
So, I just started cutting again and again and again. A LOT of sanding, clamping, more sanding and the throw away becomes a unique gift for an unsuspecting victim.
Thanks for looking and if you have some spare time, please send me a bucket full, I’ve used most of mine sanding little pieces of wood.

That’s pretty neat.

I like it! Always looking for ideas to use ‘waste’. I had to ask “What could these be used for?” Then thought: they stack like measuring cups. I wonder how much they hold? You’d know you were in a woodworker’s kitchen! Thanks for sharing.

Nice nesting boxes, pretty nice project for prior project leftover wood. I like CFrye’s idea about measuring cups for dry measure, these would make nice gifts for family & friends.

Clever idea and great use of scraps. Beautiful wood colors and finish. Like that they are stackable. Great job!
