Both of these pieces were done on a ringmaster..the large vase has 19 rings and the smaller one has 16 rings and came fron the INSIDE of the larger one!! Granadillo is a wonerful wood to work with and I prefer to use pieces that have some sap so I can create some interesting patterns..each vase has a solid shelf inside for a glass insert for use with flowers.

The sap wood definitely gives these pieces some interesting grain pattern contrast. Nice work Peter.

Real nice, love the way you have the grain showing. I like the idea of getting two from one, have you ever tried getting a third from the blank. What breed of wood is Granadillo and is it local to your area?
