Wife and I finished this a few months back. I “borrowed” the idea from this forum, and want to express my appreciation to the original designer, but I’ve lost the name. Thank you. Since finishing this little piece of yard sculpture, the directions to our house have become: “and after you turn left, look for the circles…”

Made of scrap exterior grade plywood, the rough circles were cut with a home made router circle jig, then painted with several coats of ext trim white. The gold circle (one of the neighbors calls it the brass ring) was the idea of my creative wife, who also was the final design sheriff for the random placement of the circles. This was such a simple project, that I was tempted to not post as my first posting – but I owe a big thanks to LJ for the idea.

That looks really nice. What sizes are the rings and how thick of plywood did you use?

Yes! That’s the project that inspired this. Thanks to DeGlazed for the idea.

3/4” Exterior Grade Plywood. A variety of sizes of rings, based on what scraps I had. 2” difference between OD and ID. After cut out, they were run thru my router table using an roman ogee bit. (That gave the edge some shadow lines). I know that’s kind of a weird thing to do with plywood, but it seems to have added detail that I like.
The wife likes Mickey Mouse, so that was the inspiration for the layout of some of the circles. I taped out a big square on the floor and gave her the circles and said “show me how you’d like it to look”.
