This is a fold down router table i made about 6 months ago. I was tired of having to pull everything out in the middle of the shop. I saw this in a magazine and loved the idea. I had just started the process of making new storage above the workbenches and decided to build around this idea. I dont remember how they attached the router in the article but i used adjustable toggle bolts. This will let you put different routers in the table easily. It has a little shelf to store some frequently used bits and a platform for the router when not in use. Mainly made from scraps so there is very little cost in it. I showed one of the small fences but i have about 5 different fences. All around a pretty cool little table and it only uses about 8 inches of counter depth.

That’s a pretty cool solution

Very cool space saving idea. How are the toggle clamps? Do they give a nice firm hold on the router even with heavier cuts? I’ve not seen that employed elsewhere yet so I’m curious how it’s worked for you.

Great job on that!

You can see a couple holes in the bottom portion of the table. Those are where i tried different options on mounting the router. I really like the ease of the toggle clamps. Quickly put on, take off fold away and blow everything off. Really nice little table and super cheap. With the toggle clamps i have not noticed any issues with the consistency of the cuts even the heavy ones. Thanks for looking

What a great idea to use the hold downs! I’m trying to come up with a quick way to mount my router in a homemade lift like the one on the Woodgears site. This just might be the ticket!
