Just wanted to show all of you this Buckeye I found the other day at the wood store. Shows my ignorance but I didn’t have a clue what it was…......Guess pen makers use it alot. It is extremely dry and the waste during turning was pretty much like dirt. I think it is beautiful when finished and will look for some more of it. This one is about five inches in diameter. Thanks for looking…..... ;-j

That is a beautiful piece. There are many a pen maker and call maker that are probably saying bad things about you right about now :-) for getting that beauty. That is a favorite wood for both to turn.

Great looking piece. It almost looks like it is ceramic instead of wood. Awesome job.

Very nice! I like this style of bowl that you make. The grain is amazing.

Don’t know buckeye? You mustn’t be from Ohio. I haven’t turned it either. I like the shape of your form, particularly the concave aspect of the top.

That is a really beautiful piece, both wood and workmanship.
Thanks for showing.

-- Bob, Western Australia, The Sun came up this morning, what a great start to the day. Now it's up to me to make it even better. I've cut this piece of wood 4 times and it's still too damn short.

Very Nicely done, Buckeye is one of my favorite woods to turn, but it can be difficult to find in my neck of the woods. That gray color is unique and really shows off the eyes when finished. Thanks for sharing.
