This is the first box I ever made as “An Order”. The customer wanted a personalized memory box. The divider on the left was specific for ticket stubs. The couple has the ticket stubs from every event they have ever attended together. The top part of the divider comes out in case they have to reach the bottom. (I realized after I gave her the box that she had smaller hands and would not need it.)
It is about 12 X 9 X 6 and made from Osage Orange and Walnut. It has a finish of 3 coats of Poly.
It is the first time I ever tried to do letters in wood. The top is a 1/4” piece of Walnut and a 1/4 piece of Osage Orange glued together before the routing of the letter.
I like the effect, it is almost what I was going for in the end. If I had more time, I would have redone some things, but overall, I am happy with the way it turned out. More importantly, the couple that ordered it loved it.
I welcome all comments, good or constructive.
