I saw this in a Rockler magazine as a kit and thought, “hey, I could make that.” So I did. I made a few jigs to make them fast as gifts for friends. I plan on modifying the design a bit for whatever scrap I have laying around. This one was just the 1st model. Thanks for looking!

Thanks for the comment. The block is two pieces. The front is only ~1/4 inch thick. The rear is a block of poplar. I built a jig that has two holes in it approximately 2 1/8” in diameter. I used a bowl bit to router out the holes for speakers. Before I glued the two pieces together i routed two “tubes” that go from the speaker and microphone positions on the base of the phone to the speaker holes. When you glue it together it is all hidden. I am working on a new one now that has live edge wood. Good luck with yours.

Nice.great use of scraps. The scraps have to get pretty small before I burn em. I take one camping so every one can use it.
