This music box I made for my wife for Christmas. The music is a 72-note movement. The frame and bun feet are out of Quilted Bubinga and the top and base are out of solid black ebony. The glass has a 1/2-in bevel on the outside face of each piece.
The overall size is: 11-in. long x 6 1/2-in. deep x 5-in. tall. Thank you for looking!
Happy New Year

Let me be the first to give a tip o’ the topper on one fine music box! Patti will treasure it a life time I’m sure. Good to see you back at work, and I trust your holiday was all you wanted. Stay out of the cold and keep up the great work.

Wow! Excellent project and interesting choice of material! I like the contrast!
Just out of curiosity where were you able to source the 72-note movement?
I really enjoy your projects, they are all very inspirational!

Beautiful, elegant music box, Dennis. And those big movements are quite pricey from what I’ve seen!

Dennis,
Very nicely done. You’re inspiring me to try a music box. My compliments. Like the “little black dress” ebony goes with anything. The beveled glass adds just the right accent, where flat glass would have added little. Tasteful design and your usual master execution.

Very elegant, Dennis! Just what I’d expect from you.
How did you attach the sides to the base?

You certainly are a lucky girl, Patti.
This is another beautiful piece Dennis, elegant and perfect in its simplicity.
All the beveled glass makes it appear as a well cut gem in a finely crafted mount.

That is a very beautiful music box! I really like the glass panels so that you can see the movement in action.
I, too, am curious where you got the movement!
