Inspired in an amish quilt pattern done by an american woodworker, but with local woods like quebracho, guayacán, guayubira, cancharana, cerejeira, cambará, lapacho, palo santo, pino tea, itin, virapire, etc. Picture frame in Curupay and sides in guayubira, also sliding dovetail.

finishing with “real” tung oil

the mechanism is detailled in the blog

thanks for looking

Really nice pattern of woods on the lid. They must all be timbers from Argentina, I guess. Thanks for sharing with us and also for the blog on your mechanisms.

that is a really amazing top. Did you glue the whole top at once? That is a great mixture of woods.

thanks for your comments!

jr45, you’re right most of them are argentinian woods

lanaug, if you consider the pattern an array i make several columns first and glue them to make half the pattern except for the central one. i cutted the log twice and the lonely central column once and glue them.
