I saw a shop stereo built out of a car stereo the other day posted by one of the other members and I liked it so well I decided to build my own. I went to the local you pull it auto wrecking yard and got the stereo and speakers. For the power source I used a 12 volt converter for converting things you would plug into your car to be used in the house. What I liked about this stereo was it has a usb port so I can put all my music on a memory stick and it plays non stop. The other thing that made it nice was the stereo is equipped with bluetooth so when someone calls it rings through the speakers so I can hear it over my power tools. Thanks for the great idea.

Could you post a picture or a link to the converter? Thanks
