Hexagonal trophy base for the Bellmonte Stakes Trophy won by local horse. Made of maple and finished in black lacquer to match the Preakness Trophy won by the same stables several years prior.

I hate angles.
I can never get the fit where I want it.
It looks like you have.
Well done and a great project.

The trophy base came out just perfectly BUT that table is REALLY special!

Dave, On the issue of angles I found that I was never careful enough in setting my equipment accurate enough. Then I got a Wixey Digital Angle Gauge, and a 8’’ Wixey™ Digital Protractor from Rockler. Changed the entire scene regarding angles. You might consider these two devices if you are having trouble with angles. Also, I am a retired engineer which has aided me in determining what the angles are required to be in the first place. Send me a note if I can be of help on determining an angle.

That’s one classy base, like the colors and finish. Great job!
