This is part one of a two part gift for my brother in law. It’s meant to be a plane adjusting hammer. I wanted to get some brass tubing and insert the wood into it, but time and budget would not allow that. So wood it is. I used curly maple and walnut to complement the plane I’m planning. It will use walnut for the main body, curly maple for the sides (cheeks?), cherry accents and an ipe sole. I have a 2” Hock iron on order to go in it.
Hope you guys like it!

Very nice dark chocolate brown in that walnut and the curly maple really goes well.

Attractive wood combo and great finish on that mallet. I’m sure it will be appreciated. Well done!
