Here is another crazy box ideas of mine which was a colossal learning experience and another test of my patience.
This is a small 4” square box made from canary wood and walnut. I bought the canary wood and just threw it up on my shelf, one of those that is pretty but don’t know what the hell I would do with it buys. In the midst of trying to find the wife a Christmas present and failing, I decided I would make her a small box out of the canary wood.
So we have the idea. I know I usually put a long winded build step instruction on her but decided to start moving them to my blog on here.
The corners are splined, so lets see who can figure out the secret to the splines. haha
Enjoy and read the blog on it which will be up in a little while. the spline secret will be there.
you will notice the lid looks a little off that is because it fits loose on the box and was not as tight fitting as I wanted it and I just wanted to be done with it.

Beautiful job. The canary wood shows well. Did you cut the splines on the inside first before assembly?
