This is a project I made several years ago and gave out to my family for Christmas gits. It is a 2×4 from the box store with a few cuts on the band saw to shape it. Now for the slots I used a radial arm saw with the blade tilted to the extreme. If I remember correctly, I think I even used a wood block to get a little more of an angle. The ears were cut from some 1×6.

Finished it with some stain, stick on eyes, small puffball for the nose and a pre-made bow. It hangs on the wall with a picture hanger. I think I made about 12-15 of them that year. I think you can fit over 50 cards in this.
