This is another tool that I needed for some work and finally got around to. Inspired by some work from Mafe a while back this little guy fits into an Altoids box (or would if I had one to try it in). The wedge system was something I could make from parts on hand and seems to work so far. I had intended to turns some small handles for it but found that the back offers enough grip as is and therefore left them out at least for now. After an oil finish I tried black wax as this is something I’ve been thinking about for some furniture work. The black really makes the rays of the oak stand out and I think it would be a nice finish for quarter sawn material.

Really cool Mike.
I love that you used a wedge and a hex key, this really makes it a cool tool that can be made cheap.
Way to go and thank for sending me a thought.
Best of my thoughts,
