She wanted just a quick -n- dirty hanger for her necklaces and jewelry. “Just something to hang on the wall” she said. Well I wasn’t about to have a plain flat board with dowels in it on my wall so this is what I came up with. It’s an adaptation of a coat hanger that I posted here a few weeks ago only on a smaller scale. The button in the center is Claro Walnut?? Is that right? I’ve never worked with it before. It was just a scrubby nasty block of wood with cracks in it, I almost threw it away. But then I started turning it and it was quite a surprise. The arms are hickory, finished only with shellac.

So now I have to figure out how to wrap it up.

Thanks for looking, and Merry Christmas.

Very nice. SWMBO wants a jewelry rack. you have just given me an idea. Thanks!
Claro walnut has great looking color and grain. It is used for many high end firearms.

Cool and pretty project! The button makes a great accent. I’m sure she loves it. Great job!

Have your say...
