Here is a strangeness wrapped up in bizzaro world. I started making military toys for my father who had mentioned that he did not have anything that i made in school and missed his wooden toys from his past. This resulted in a couple tanks, battle ships and planes being made and then he stored them on his work bench that he does balsa wood planes on. Some how this lead to then my Aunt inn law asking me to make some for her husband…... So I made these for him. The two last pictures show a P-51 and SPITFIRE that I posted earlier. The three will be going to her house for Christmas. All three out of pine and done in what I call redneck sander carving. The two have gotten me into these and will continue to make them, the odd part is my boys are 13 & 14 so they are a little old for them.

Happy holidays to and happy woodworking!!

Even though these aren’t what you might call “museum quality” in their details, they’re still immediately recognizable as to what they’re supposed to be, and that’s no easy task. My vote for the next one is a P-47D.
