This is a group of commissioned “gentleman’s boxes” made with some very nice pieces of wood. This customer was looking for some super nice boxes to give as gifts to his card group. The maple box is much larger than the rest. He wanted it for himself. Most are 2 1/2” deep X 12” long X 7” wide. The Maple is 6 1/2” deep X 14” long X 8” wide. I thought you all would be interested in seeing the different splatted bookmatched top medallions we chose to use with the different base woods. All the boxes are a different wood species and have the quadrant hinges and black velvet bottom linings. These were a lot of fun to make and were a nice learning process also. Hope you like-em.

Really like the 3rd and 4th pics; spalted bookmatch tops with matching handles.
The base woods: padauk and purpleheart?

Wow a very nice batch of boxes, really like the purple heart and the last one, also like those hinges they are really nice. I am so jealous of the US with all that spalted wood, I have seen some here but the spalting is minimal, nothing like I have seen from the US projects. Beautifully made boxes, excellent job.
