Spalted Poplar Bowl

I got this from a firewood pile at a sawmill. I was a little disappointed that it was poplar, until I started getting deeper into it. There’s a rainbow of color in it, even a little purple. The black lines are cracks.

There are a lot of different colors in this bowl. Looks like a good find to me. Nice work.

Good turning. Nice wood. I’ve yet to try firewood. Hope I can find the time and do half as well as you.

Like that wonderful grains and interesting figures and colors on wood. Great turning on that beautiful piece.
