I needed a place to store my receiver hitches and a heavy-duty wooden box was just the ticket. Using some scrap wood from a reclaimed desk, I made this 1” thick monster of a box. The simple butted joints are glued and screwed, with a couple of brad nails thrown in there just to help hold it together while assembling.

It now has over 50 pounds of (somewhat rusty) steel stored in it. Hopefully it holds up well to the abuse it’s going to take over the next 50 years or so. :)

You might end up using the box as a stool or saw bench.

Looks good and sturdy. I’m sure it will serve you well for a long time. Great job!
