This was my first natural edge bowl that I had turned. It was made from a red cedar burl. The burl was a little too big for this little cheap lathe, so it took me some time to make this one but in the end I think the results were pretty nice. A lot of sanding and a few chipped knuckles, it made a nice gift for my mother. I learned a lot from making this bowl and really enjoy turning natural edge bowls now.

what kind of lathe do you have. I love to do this kind of work also but I need to do an upgrade. Real nice job.

Great job turning that beautiful bowl. It has beautiful grains and love the natural edge. I’m sure your Mom loves it as well.
