My 3 year old daughter (notice how long since my last post to LJ!) is very into Thomas the train, and has accumulated quite a huge collection.
To store them when not in use, I built her a niece wall rack. The actual rack itself is made of 8/4 hard maple, and is pretty large, 28” wide.
The side pieces have actual thomas joints on them, and I tried them out by connecting them to real track!

very cool. I like the connection joints!
much nicer than how we store it all in a box :)

very nice, wish I would have thought of that back when my child was obsessed with Thomas (now in college)
I did however build many hot wheel racks
I did keep all the thomas for potential grandkids someday
