A friend of mine was trying to find a desk for reading in bed but wasn’t able to find what he liked. He gave me a sketch of what he was looking for and asked if I could make one.

I decided to make it “foldable” for transporting.

The wood is Cherry with a semi-gloss “poly”. I resawed a board to get the design on the easel. My daughter saw the
outcome and I had to make another. I did make a “trial” one to see if it would be workable.

Very Nice. And one more thing on my “to do” list.

Thank you. It took some experimenting to get the right dimensions. The second one was much easier.
The “oval is 26” x 14” if that helps, the easel is 11” x 14”, legs about 8” high.

Like it, looks really comfortable to read in bed with your well designed desk. Beautiful cherry and finish, well done!

Thanks ALL for the generous comments. I find it relaxing to work with wood.
