Here is a keepsake box I made out of Ambrosia Maple. The splines, feet, and handle are made from Walnut. The inside trays & dividers are Cherry. I lined the bottom and tray with chocolate colored felt. I spent a day last week making all new sleds for my table saw. I am getting ready to make a bunch of xmas gifts so I figured it was time. I just built this box to test out all the sleds and try a couple ideas out on a test project. Overall I am fairly pleased with it….except for my router tried to spit the bit back out at me. I started to rise and it ate a part on the back corner of the lid. I really need to just go buy a new router before this one gets me. Fished with danish oil and a coat of wax

Josh, this is beautiful wood. I like the internals you added, good work. Although I am not a fan of slab tops, this one looks natural and comfortable. You might look at this. Keep boxing and keep posting.

Pretty box. Wood looks a lot like box elder.

Thanks All. And I agree with you Al. I’m not a big fan of this type of lid and even more so.. the hinges. Thanks for the link!
