I started cutting these pieces out over 15 years ago and had assembled one table. I finally got motivated to complete the second so I could get them finished. I’d make a few design changes, but overall these are good, solid red oak tables that were worth waiting for. Lots of mortise and tenon joinery. The corner corbels are attached with size 10 biscuits. Finish is Old Masters gel stain and multicoat poly wipe on finish. Wish I’d gone satin rather than semigloss.

Now on to my wife’s armoire!

Nice tables.
Changing semi-gloss to satin is as easy as waxing with #0000 steel wool and Howard’s Walnut Wax. Actually any dark colored paste wax will do, I just prefer Howard’s. Apply the wax with the grain, and remove with a clean rag.

Thanks for sharing your project.

It’s actually, “If you choose not to decide, you’ve still not made a choice.” Sorry, I’m a Rush fan.

These look very solid and turned out nice
I love the corner corbals (I actually didn’t know what they were called)
Now i’ll sound more intelligent when I make a set of these for the guest room and I explain

Be careful, Greg. I kind of made that up based on an architectural term :-) (corner corbel)

Great tables and a very nice look to them! Hope I get to the point where I can make things like that!

Personal best for projects build times vary widely, as do mine, days to years, it’s all fine. Oh, the tables are both great looking, magazine cover project I’d bet. Nice work.

My favorite style of furniture. You did a great job, they look awesome. I’ve had some plans for mission furniture for a few years now, need to get working!

Thanks, everyone. I know I shouldn’t be surprised (it’s just math after all), but to think that over 500 people have seen my work is mindboggling to me. I bragged to my wife that her tables were “top 6 daily projects on Lumberjocks.” Never hurts to have spousal support. Of any kind. I just don’t like paying it.
