Here’s a tea box with lid that I made for a friend. Four columns with an opening at the bottom of each column. Each column has a routered opening to check the tea bag level. The top is a flip top held in place by a dowel at the left and right sides. Not the fanciest countertop storage option but I did learn things along the way.

Cool idea. Really neat to be able to see the level of the bags. Nice job.

This project taught me to more closely inspect wood before I start the project. A buddy gave me some rough cut, air dried Cherry boards in exchange for making this. Starting out, the wood was warped, cupped, twisted, bent, cracked, and not noticed until further into the project but very small openings/cracks in the wood. Finding those cracks during the first run resulted in starting over and changing the face design. In the end it turned out fine with using different wood for the face. Like any frustrating process you learn something along the way.

Love the design. Great job. I know I learn something each time I do something, especially with rough cut, air dried, cupped, cracked and twisted lumber.
