For some reason I love to make musical things, maybe because I cannot play a note on anything. I just have no musical ability. I finally got interested in building something I could make music with. It is a John Smith, Senior 20 crank organ. I got interested in building one because of another forum that had several people building. them. I purchased the plans and a cd from John Smith in the UK. With the help from the people on the other forum I was able to build it. I really enjoyed the build and now I enjoy the music. I also have fun playing it a t different events. If you would like to hear it play there is a video here:

Now I had just completed the build and tuning. I had been doing a little celebrating before I did this little video so, well, I’m really a very quite, reserved guy, so maybe the bottle of wine loosened me up a little.

It took me 7 months to complete the organ. It was great fun. I have plans and have been collecting material to start a little bigger 26 note organ, hopefully this winter some time.

This is so cool! I definitly have to look into making one myself. Do you have the website where you purchased the plans?

I would have to agree. WOW PaulDoug; I would also like to know where you got the plans to build this crank organ and also the wooden truck. I build a calliopie that I mounted on a wooden golf cart that I build on a 2006 Yamaha golf car. Thanks for sharing you information.
