I made this piece as an automotive art project / toy so that it could be played with or just put on a shelf or mantle. The body is black walnut 3/4 inch thick cut out on the scroll saw with a #9 reverse cut skip tooth blade.
Originally I was going to paint on the flames but my shaky painting skills made me decide to scroll them in and give the toy a see through look. The tires and wheels are painted by hand and are actually wood under all that :)

Really good job. There are young children in our family, so your very well made Hot Rod has given me ideas.
