Here is a little simple project just about anyone can make, and use up some scrap hardwood. Most of these are about 3/16, to 1/4 ” thick, take a 1/2” forestner bit and drill two holes about 1/8” deep Use the finish of your choice before gluing in the Wiggle Eye’s Drill a 1/8” hole in the end for the key ring. The key rings and wiggle eyes can be bought at Michaels, or Hobby Lobby 24 rings-$2.99 100 plus .47 eyes also $2.99 You will have about .15 cents in each one not counting the wood. No trouble selling these at craft shows for $3.00 to $5.00 each. I will be donating these 25 to the nurses at the Parkview Chemo Center here in Ft Wayne I plan on turning a display stand with a series of hooks on them so they can look at them, and choose the one they want. The last picture is a little different version, of the same thing, only made of all wood. You simply take a 5/8” Forestner bit and drill two holes, use a contrasting color wood to what you are making the key ring out of, and plug them with 5/8” plugs. sand everything smooth , and then drill two 3/8” forestner holes over top of the 5/8 plugs, I try to make them look cross eyed, sand everything flat and finish with your choice. Notice that there are two different styles of wiggle eye’s, one of them has lashes.

Great idea! I can see these as stocking stuffers for Christmas or gift tags year round!

-- Bob, Western Australia, The Sun came up this morning, what a great start to the day. Now it's up to me to make it even better. I've cut this piece of wood 4 times and it's still too damn short.
