This wine box is based on the plans from woodstore.net, and was a wedding gift for my boss. The plans were followed pretty much to the letter, except for the curved ends. My bandsaw has a max depth of cut of 3 inches, and I was on a time constraint, so planing and shaping was not in the cards. Maple and Cherry make up the body, with assorted plane shavings used to cushion the bottle. Finish is six coats of clear lacquer sanded to 600. Added her favorite wine, and the gift was a major hit.
Thanks for looking, and have a great week!

The wood shavings is a cool idea. Making shavings for the sake of making shavings sounds like a fun idea.

I like the design, and the added touch of planer shavings is something that I will definitely do on my next wine box.
