I have been on this great web site for just over 4 yrs. I have made some great friends and met so many people that I respect and love chatting with. Blondie and I started a major construction project re-doing the front of our house cpl months ago. We both love the Craftsman Style, and worked hard to come up with our own little details to achieve this desired look.

We had the run of the mill Home Depot address sign like most houses, when we received a letter from Spalm ( Steve ). front of house

One day after posting pictures of the progress of our stone work, new entry door, and Craftsman style poles I built for the front of the house here on LJ’s. I get a letter from Steve offering to make a sign for us that would be more appropriate for the style we were going for on our house. We were shocked and honored at such a nice jester. Steve and I have talked many times here on LJ’s and is one of the many I respect here on LJ’s and marvel at some of his work. He suggested we pic a font from Microsoft Word and he would make it up on his CNC Router. We pic the font that him and his wife suggested and offered to pay whatever he wanted for materials and his time, of course he refused repeatedly.

We received this beautiful sign Fri in the mail and LOVE it. He made it out of cherry. We got to hang yesterday and couldn’t be happier. Front of House

I look fwd. to one day returning the favor and meeting them in person. We were so touched that he offered and made this for us. We love doing things for people. Blondie try to as much charity work as possible every week with our lab Kiana, but feel so touched when someone out of the blue offers & takes the time to make a special gift.

Thank-you Steve and all the special Lumberjocks I have had the pleasure of getting to know. Look forward to many more.

Ken and Blondie.

Beautiful sign, and I really like the way the front of your house came out, Ken.

Another great story of Lumberjock generosity (of which I have also been a recipient)! I’ve known Steve for a long time here on LJ’s, and I’m not the least bit surprised he would do something like this.

Looks wonderful Ken and it’s a good color match for your awesome front door. A very nice gesture of Steve to gift you this handsome address plaque. Well done Steve!

Can only support and agree with all the previous comments.

Maybe the site will be the cutting edge for change!

Not forgetting the founders Martin and Debbie for their insight in creating such a great place to be a member of or just visit, post chat ,brag, gloat and educate all in one location.

Ken, I’d say a bit of your generosity has been returned to you. The house project looks super. Nice work on Steve’s part too. Nice touch.

Thx so much for all the positive comments and nice words. I truly love this site and as mentioned from Robcastle who is 100% correct stating, “a big thx to martin and Debbie for all the hard work and making this site possible.” Thx to the others as well that I’m not aware of on their contributions as well.

It was a great present from Steve and a real surprise. After finishing the gate yesterday, Blondie and I poured some wine and just looked at it and smiled. Gate post coming later :>)
